Founded in 1996, Circle of Concern Consortium (CCC) is a not-for-profit organization that promotes education and networking among parents, educators, and members of the Colorado community regarding pertinent childhood development issues, especially substance abuse.
CCCs membership is composed of volunteers, including health care and mental health professionals, parents, and educators from independent and public schools and school districts across Colorado. Representatives of law enforcement and other government agencies and private organizations and members of the community at large also are integral to the organization.
Resources and programs
Circle of Concern Consortium recognizes the critical role that parental involvement and communication play in healthy child and adolescent development. To that end, CCC publishes and distributes A Parents Guide to Substance Abuse Prevention, a reference to provide parents with information, resources, and coping strategies regarding substance abuse prevention.
CCC hosts monthly school-year meetings, roundtable discussions, guest speakers, and PowerPoint and other presentations to raise awareness and promote discussion among participants.
